St. Joseph of the Palisades High School Hosts Winter Open House

Students and Parents Invited to Learn About St. Joseph's Leadership Academy Programs
We will host a winter open house on Sunday, January 25, 2009, from 1-4 PM at 5400 Broadway in West New York, NJ. The faculty and staff invite 7th and 8th grade students and their parents to an information session and tour.

What programs and characteristics constitute the St. Joseph's advantage?

  • St. Joseph is serious about educating students to a world in need.  Our sodality is a unique approach to building Christian leaders.
  • Our curriculum provide college-preparatory courses.
  • We believe that there are significant differences in students that require different needs. We create and continually improve the different "tracks" of learning.
  • Our advanced tracks culminate in AP courses in every core discipline.
  • St. Joseph's leadership development begins from day one of freshman year and continues throughout all 4 years, along with multi-level leadership opportunities, student retreats and organizations, and Student Council.

The Open House is a great opportunity to see the school in action. Come visit us on Sunday, January 25, 2009

New 21st Century Virtual High School Education
Students at St. Joseph can now participate in learning courses with Virtual High School Global Consortium.  Through this opportunity students can take various pre-college level courses such as AP Art History, AP Calculus, AP Government, AP French Language, AP Statistics, AP Physics, AP Computer Science, Business Law, Engineering, and Web Design etc.  This experience is supported through an Internet course from the Virtual High School (http//:govhs.org) and requires students to be responsible for 15 weeks of intense academic study including Internet discoveries, discussions, journals and a research paper combined with hands-on High School experience under the supervision of St. Joseph of the Palisades teachers. Virtual learning is an intrinsic part of St. Joseph of the Palisades Leadership Academy involving the implementation of off-site learning experiences as well as the combination of resources to achieve a higher level learning experience at St. Joseph of the Palisades High School.
